Now let’s imagine if social media (X, and instagram/facebook) sites do this to artists. An algorithm that can suddenly downrank your visibility to your audience, on top of AI taking over search.
Google is Using AI to Censor Independent Websites
My letter to the FTC explaining how Google is using AI to censor thousands of independent websites - and to control the flow of information online.

Umm, #artists, if you rely on US-based websites, if "Interstate Obscenity Definition Act" passes, risks your R18 posts being taken down. This could make U.S websites be another tumblr if they wanted to stay far away from lawsuits relating to porn content.

IP address-based site blocking is not a good idea. Block one, you block 100s of innocent websites. Copyright or not, any site blocking regime is ripe with abuse like DMCA 512.

I got a notification from Nagadomi on patreon (waifu2x) that google's reCAPTCHA to be moved to a paid service at the end of 2025 (fearing free/low-cost features become paid/increased-price).

However there are more things that are even more disgusting revealed.
reCAPTCHA: 819 million hours of wasted human time and billions of dollars in Google profits
New research reveals Google's reCAPTCHA system primarily serves as a tracking tool, generating billions in revenue while offering minimal protection against bots.

Hey advertisers, This is the final nail in the coffin of why you should pull your funding off of X. Not only the site is a cesspool of hate and harassment, but it is run by a man who have thrown a wrench in the U.S government system, including sensitive data and such.

Hope this spells a good long-term benefit for artists, indie game developers or any small businesses. No more having to endure painful switching costs.
Free Our Feeds! What is it! @freeourfeeds.com

F.O.F. is an independent group with the goal of running THIS👇 social network totally outside of Bluesky.

It's not us. It's a fully independent version of the network. All the same users and posts. Running cooperatively with us and others.

Has anyone commission a Russian artist, and the artist becomes inactive for weeks or longer, and the commission art hasn't been finished?

I'm worried that the artist is unsafe given that they live in that dangerous country.

Please don't harass them, they're unwilling to attack other countries.

Artists who have an Instagram account, Facebook may be using its AI-trained datasets (ToS demands them to have a right to use your post), and have their AI "users" generate AI "art" off of your work.

That is more reasons to support artists outside of Meta's walled garden.
Meta confirms they plan to add tons of AI-generated users to Facebook and Instagram

They will have bios, profile pics and can share content

Elon Musk is deliberately hindering Artists and Indie game devs from promoting their work. Free advertising is essentially shadowbanned off of Twitter/X.
Elon admits that any post on X with a link is throttled

He advises you to upload content directly to X instead, where he can monetize it

Musk is the richest person in the world and his view is everyone should work for him for free
