The Star Wars prequels are turning out to be prescient in a lot of ways. Not just the whole fascist takeover from within… but the fact that the people who were supposed to be protecting the galaxy had become so rigid, insular and detached that they were easily overthrown.

The smartest thing the Democrats could do right now is start a legal fund to defend everyone who’s going to get sued for defamation by Trump or musk. Spam me to donate to that. I’d gladly give a few bucks so people have the ability to speak freely.

I think our primary goal now has to be slowing things down and gumming up the works so much that they can’t totally eliminate fair elections next year. And making sure Trump voters know where their pain is coming from.
