You probably have this too but just in case. I presume this is about her. It was written in 2019 so it may have more information. ualresearchonline.arts.ac.uk/id/eprint/15...

I've found three newspaper clippings: 1955, 1967 and 1973, where she was speaking at events. Let me know if you don't have them and I'll tell you what they are :)

I think it depends so much on what the person wants. I guess you'd settle on some wording your comfortable with like, 'no results are guaranteed since it depends on what records exist, however 100% effort is guaranteed.'

On the house research, I'm looking into a house at the moment that a friend lives in. It was used in short term rentals by fashionable people in the 19th Century. The clues are from the society pages. Sometimes I just get 'Mrs MacLean + party'. Can still find them though :)

This is exactly the issue I'm trying to figure out. What is reasonable to ask for, given that results are not guaranteed.

I'd also do anything in return if I can
January 30, 2025 at 4:56 PM
I've also recently been working on house history

I'm also toying with the idea of going professional. I like helping people who are stuck and also solving old family mysteries. I've been working with people for free for about five years. If you do find collect useful start-up information, is it possible you could draw up an information sheet.

I love solving mysteries, finding stories, and tracking down 'lost' people. I'm an ex-Detective and a storyteller so those aspects are right up my street.

Aha! I had a look and found them and wondered if it was them. I love the postcards and I always want to look for the stories in them.

She appears on census returns with Richard's wife Maria and on one occasion with their Dad.

It's a list of some property leases in 1807 in Truro lists Peter Perry about three times and John Perry and Richard Perry. They appear to be living next door to each other.

Great! Well, not for him :(
January 24, 2025 at 12:46 PM
If you are still trying to connect the Richard Perry lost at sea to your Perrys, I think that Richard is the son of a John Henry Perry as this is the name of his first son. Do you have a John Henry in Peter's generation, or Peter's father's generation, at all?

There's a Maria Catherine Waters who married a George Perry in Falmouth in 1831. There's a Maria Catherine Waters baptised 1812 in St Hilary, Penzance, which is about 13 miles from St Just.

Aha! So 1871 census Loveday Ledan (born 1823) is the daughter of Catherine Perry and niece Loveday Perry and Maria C Perry. So Maria is married to a brother of Loveday and Catherine. OK so is there a brother George? see next message.

I have to go out for a couple of hours. I'll send what I've found when I get back. I hope it helps.
