*In that first post, it should be AI, not AO

Wish they would allow artists and context creators to opt out of this tool.

Not a huge fan as someone who has had their copy written work stolen by generative AI platforms, but at the very least, Canva seems to be compensating artists when their style is stolen by AI.

With the stars there, it looks like this is part of their AI expansion. From their website, it says you can now copy artistic styles from an image and apply them to a separate image and their AO generator will make the changes.

If you’ve never seen the “Halloween Party Panic” episode of Molly of Denali, it’s great. One of Molly’s friends wants to dress up as Walter Harper and does so by wearing sacred regalia.

Molly and her friends gently help him understand why it’s offensive and what he can do to honor his hero instead

Also, my sister did a great job helping her kiddos understand how it’s possible to dress like someone from a different race without being disrespectful.

In the words of Molly of Denali’s mom “the trick is to dress like the person, not the culture”

We also encourage students to take as much food as allowed when getting their school lunches (entree plus the max amount of sides allowed) even if they know they aren’t going to eat it so that they can add it to the basket.

I love that! I wish every school would

That’s why we kept the food on ice and require food to be unopened in its original packaging.

I share this because when we first started there were a lot of obstacles to overcome and we were originally told that we couldn’t do it.

The biggest concerns were food safety (the food sitting out at room temp) and allergies

Now, many years later, it’s common practice. Traditionally; there’s so much food waste in the cafeteria, but now students are in the habit of sharing what they don’t need with others.

It took a LOT of time and effort to get students to actually adopt this system. At first, students were used to just dumping their trays in the garbage/compost/recycling bins.

Lunch monitors had to stand there and remind students not to throw away unopened food.
