To every veteran who’s carried the weight for the rest of us, we see you, and we honor your service. Veterans, families and neighbors showed up all lining the streets to honor those who’ve worn the uniform. There was pride, strength, and a deep sense of respect.

I joined Rev. Al Sharpton once again on PoliticsNation, alongside Mayor-Elect Sharon Owens of Syracuse. On the other side of the elections, we’re continuing the conversation, about what’s next and how the issues impacting Americans nationally show up here at home. www.facebook.com/share/v/14Lo...

As both a mom and daughter, this special moment captured touches my soul! There are so many societal and cultural norms spoken and unspoken that send messages to women and girls telling them what they can’t do. It’s on us to tell them and most importantly show them what they can do!

Day One set the tone. I met with our Transition Team and the Activate Albany Committee at Hattie’s Culinary Lab, a space rooted in history and youth opportunity. We are building a safer, stronger Albany by investing in people. If you’re ready to serve, apply at ActivateAlbany.com.

I've seen enough: The city of Albany — chartered in 1686, the capital of New York since 1797 — has elected its first Black mayor, Dorcey Applyrs. Photo by the Times Union's Lori Van Buren.

I had a wonderful time at the VIP Reception hosted by the Albany Institute of History & Art and Black Dimensions in Art. The Albany Institute is one of the oldest museums in the United States, and its walls carry the weight and beauty of centuries of creative expression.

What a beautiful evening at the Madison Theatre. I’m so grateful to everyone who came out in support of this campaign and the vision we’re building for Albany’s future.
It meant so much to stand beside my colleagues, Councilmembers Owusu Anane and Jack Flynn, and others.

As a woman of faith, I warmly welcome Auxiliary Bishop Mark W. O’Connell of Boston as the next bishop of the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese. His humility, compassion, and commitment to listening reflect the kind of servant leadership that strengthens our broader community.

At the No Kings 2 protest, we stood shoulder to shoulder with people who refuse to be silent in the face of suppression. Collective resistance powers real democracy, it’s how we remind the powerful that their authority depends on our consent.
