Work on "volumetric gib system" continues. Added resistance to damage depending on proximity to bone.

Still need to work on effects on the outer shell (skin) :)

Used morph targets to achieve an effect of an evolving creature in Unreal Engine. Material transition still needs a bit of work, but I'm happy with the effect so far. Trying to keep an hint of an "retro-ish" aesthetic

Neat :) Also depends on your needs, but in case if you'd like to hide the inner triangles of meshes in your hologram, there is a trick with enabling custom depth writes and comparing pixel / scene depth :)

This reminds me of how back in 2003 when as a 12 year old I was super hyped for Doom 3 and I drew this Lost Soul by tracing concept art (most likely yours) that I found online🙂 Still love those monster designs :)
