The pump track at @riversportokc.bsky.social is about at the halfway point on my long rides. It makes for a nice way to break up the ride. It is interesting to try to pump on a gravel bike. You get a lot of looks to when you are the only one in spandex and dropbars.🤣

Another attempted turtle rescue. This alligator snapper let me know it was perfectly comfortable being that close to the road. They move fast and have incredibly strong bites. I decided it wasn’t worth loosing a finger.

😂 I also love a quiet freehub and this one is almost silent! It will be nice when I swap out the tires for gravel season so I don’t scare off the wildlife. It will be nice for cyclocross season because it will harder to here where I am at on the course.🤣 #gravelbike #carbonwheels #shimano

NEW WHEELS!!! I got my hands on the @shimano GRX carbon version. I love how these look. The logos are minimal and just look so sleek. I put some 32mm @vittoriatires Rubino Pro with tire liners road training, but I never stick to the road for too long.

Broke a spoke mid ride on a “smooth” section of road. Thankfully I realized it before I boomed a descent.😂

Starting taking mtb seriously this year as offseason training for CX & being a NICA coach. This started with getting a cyclocross/mtb coach myself & getting a mtb fit. Got my bars slammed for better front wheel control, brakes moved in for 1 finger braking, & saddle raised.

Doing some much needed maintenance on the mtb only to realize the stock Tektro brakes are just that bad. Fresh oil didn’t change how spongy they felt. Went for a dusty ride & then picked up some Shimano brakes from the local shop.
