Constantly looking for ways to step down our carbon footprints. Local activist in Santa Clara County, California.
Usually I don't have the trailer attached. This is just the most recent time I took a picture of a big COSTCO load.

On Sunday a record 227ish people left their rides in my corral for the 49er game. I counted the bikes just before half time. Thank you Eleni for this picture of it. Thanks to all the people that made it work out!

Cracks me up that these divisions are in alphabetical order!

170ish people parked their bikes in my corral for the 49ers vs. Falcons game on Sunday Night Football.

Karen was showing me this sign she plans to carry tomorrow (today) at the Oct. 18th NO KINGS DAY!

I've got metal water bottles on all my bikes. I figure every time I refill one I save $2ish or more on that trip.

This is right after I got home with a COSTCO run (about $250ish). Both boxes and the pannier are totally full.

I have several of these bottles, each with a different sticker collection. They fit well in my water bottle cages and they hold plenty of water for about 30 miles of riding except when it's really hot. I save at least $2 every time I leave the house with it full.

Been seeing a lot of approval for the silence of the generals. They have created some space for good ideas to bubble up. Lets out-sense the two party system. "Stop voting for oil companies at the gas pump!" We need to create a better reality then they can give us.

Just made banana bread for the first time in years. The occasion was someone on TrashNothing.org was giving away bunches of very ripe bananas. Couldn't resist using some up. Even have enough left for an Elvis style PB sandwich for lunch!

Wanted to participate in the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival. Somebody asked me to incorporate the first amendment in my piece, so this is what I came up with.

"BIKE PARTY is proof that First Amendment Freedom of Assembly is valuable."

Preparing for San Jose Bike Party's Flora & Fauna ride, my bike has joined team fauna.

I've just eaten homegrown tomatoes with Renegade food vegan salami and rebel cheese for supper. Feeling like a fully accessorized revolutionary at the moment.

Went to FIGHT BACK! in Palo Alto. That tiny little speaker in the sunglasses is Judge LaDoris Cordell. There were many speakers. We chanted "This what democracy looks like!" If democracy includes sharing the moment and voting, we were there! A highlight was Senator Josh Becker.

I was getting knee problems again. What could it be? I finally narrowed it down to my bike. Took it into Bicycle Express with an advanced case of front wheel arthritis. Half an hour later they sent me on my way with a new front wheel. Feeling like my bike is ten years younger!

This spice company decided "We can't normalize this!" So their pepper blend is Outrage. When my food is too dull I sprinkle Outrage on it. First time in my life I can say that.

For years the back right burner on my stove has been out. Melted some huge piece of plastic onto it one time. After that it was unusable. Today that changed. A neighbor remodeling their kitchen was pitching a stove just like mine. The guy doing the demo said have the burner. A good stove again.

This is my road bike. Use that one when I'm going far and not carrying much. Put the bar end shifter on because I could never tune the one built into the brake lever to stay right.

This is the bike I was riding today. I admit, I hang lots of stuff on the handlebars. Keep the area where I hold them comfortably clear of stuff usually. Added the bar ends so I could ride further comfortably.

Found a bag of figs that had been unsealed in the back of the fridge for far too long. They were so dry I couldn't make a dent in them with my fingernail. Put a couple of them in this bowl of soup. I'm doing that again. Marvelous slightly chewy savory spiced sweet fig. Yumm!

Discovered a great use for homegrown tarragon. Cover the beard print area with tasty leaves. Take bite, including all the tarragon. Presto! Mouthful of yummieness and peanut butter free beard. That plant is looking even more beautiful.

On City Hall Plaza in Palo Alto there was a great Earth Day open mike. Picked up this batch of stickers from somebody tabling there. Yay Palo Alto!

The big news here is they sanded down the edge of the sidewalk that was sticking up. It's no longer possible to stub my toe walking to my front door, at least for a while.
