Bought a tin of cookies from the local 'Bargain Buys' shop, for £1, mainly bought for the tin.
Made in India. A bit cheeky if you ask me.

Ominous notice. What sort of chemical? What sort of damage? Will it happen again anytime soon, like while I'm reading this notice?

Physics Question:
My new electric blanket is 74cmx135cm and is rated at 40W. My duvet is rated at 9 TOG
Assuming that no heat is lost downward through the mattress, what temperature rise can I expect over ambient?

Christmas is organised: The tree is up, the YOJ mats have been unearthed from the cupboard, the multi-gauge steam locomotive tin has been sent to the recycling equivalent of Barry Island where it belongs. Still got two strings of fairy lights to find homes for.

COTD No6 Looks really uninteresting, but it hides an interesting movement. Timecal was yet another brand of Smiths clocks. This one has a tuning fork movement that references Bulova patents. There are a pair of little magnets on the end of the tuning fork which drive a little toothed wheel.

Clock No5
A Kundo battery electric pendulum clock. The curved bar is a magnet and the brass cylinder it runs through contains solenoid windings, hidden inside is also a one transistor circuit that controls the solenoid and keeps the pendulum swinging.

Clock of the day No4
Unlike the machine made Gent's, the Synchronome master clock is much more a product of traditional clockmaking, with lots of handwork and finishing. Looking inside you might think 'I could make that.' and indeed many were built to plans with kits of parts supplied by the company

I can't stand Frasier. There I've said it. It's just the sound of it:
Random fast, angry and assertive shouting, burst of canned laughter.
Another burst of Random fast, angry and assertive shouting, more of canned laughter.
Rinse and repeat for 30 minutes.

Clock of the day No3
Since I am behind with my clock of the day, two today:
This is a Gents' Pulsynetic C7 Master clock. Messrs Parsons and Ball who took over from Mr Gent were not clock makers but engineers and it shows, who builds cast iron clocks?
It impulses all the slaves once every 30 seconds.
