Junior high school teacher, Ph.D. in Food Science. I love food, science, history. Oh, and music. Rock and electronic.
Finally got my hands on this book. I am curious, as I was when I first spotted it. Might be another interesting take on a greatly interesting and mysterious question: where do we come from? #books #science

I thought it impossible when, three years ago I decided to make an annotated version of my paperback copy of Bryson’s wonderful book. And yet, here we are, with a new, revised, updated edition of one of the most wonderful science books ever published. www.penguin.co.uk/_next/image?...

My first impression was not so enthusiastic. I had other expectations. I was wrong. The more I read this novel, the more I love it for all the messages it conveys, and for the still important discourse about science and religions, among other important things. #book

With three years of shameful delay, I am watching The Northman. Never too late I should say. #movie

Back to #history - after a brief interval among isotopic signatures, sediments and Oxygen levels through Earth’s history! This one has been acclaimed as a great #book and I am curious to see if the author really managed to present a complete narrative.

Today I visited the Egyptian Museum in Turin. 4th time. It’s an experience I reccommend to anyone. Either you are interested in Ancient Egypt or not, this museum will capture your attention, providing an exciting tour through mummies, artifacts of all types and captivating multimedial displays.

I have played the first “The Last of Us” but not the second. That being said, I loved the second season of HBO’s series even though I believe Bella Ramsey was a miscast. #TV #TheLastofUs

My personal opinion: Kaitlyn Dever would be a perfect - perfect! - Ellie, far better than Bella Ramsey. #TheLastofUs #TV #HBO

Just found this title while browsing through books of the science section in a bookstore near home. The content - biochemistry for at least half of the book - makes me drool like a dog. Might find some valid counterbalance to Nick Lane’s narrative about the origin of life on Earth. 📚🧪 #book

Perhaps a little bit lacking on the narrative side, but if you are interested in the details of Titanic’s story, this book is a must have. I found it compelling and satisfying. It’s written with passion for history and honesty. 📚 #history #Titanic #books

Last book I read (my second time). Not so much on plant evolution, but accessible and well written nonetheless! 📚

“Now I see a little better how Nazism overcame Germany[…] It was what most Germans […] under pressure of combined reality and illusion, came to want.[…]
I came back home a little afraid for my country, afraid of what it might want […] and “like, under pressure of combined reality and illusion.”

Many many people still underestimate the risks and don’t grasp the expanse of their own ignorance. They are ready to put the blame on some not yet defined “class” of people, though. It’s always someone else’s fault, right? #climatechange #future

This is my Scholar statistics from 2015. I left my post-doc position in late 2020 and… it seems that ~89% of citations arrived in the 2020-2024 break. After I left academia. Numbers are falling and will continue to do so, of course, but I expected they would fall to zero within 2-3 years… #research
