So it looks like masonry style layouts are going to be created with display: grid-lanes.

There were a lot of names proposed, and after some polling, this one was pretty heavily favoured.

There were a few others I liked more, but I think it's a good choice.

Last night @gianmarcosoresi.bsky.social and I had a live conversation using his Meta AI recording glasses. After the show my wife said:

"I think that was the least funny part of the show"

Welp, guess you'll never see that video. 😅

I just noticed at YouTube the hover effect on cards seems to be custom to each video. I assume they are getting the most prominent color from the thumbnail. They also update the text color to match.

This could have been CSS (except getting the color from the image) but it's all JS here. 😞

General request for people organizing events, please stop announcing events for November 13th. I feel like there's 5 events happening that day, many of which I want to attend.

Pick another day, I want to go!

Good tip @donnie.damato.design: buff.ly/ysu28eJ

Don't use `onDark` in your tokens, this requires adding another set of tokens for everything on dark.

Better define a dark theme and use this in the section that needs a dark BG. This way no additional tokens are needed and it works out of the box.
Ondark virus
While it might seem intuitive at first, naming your tokens this way is bad for your health.

Fun fact, I don't mention AI at all in my talk at Converge next week. Not once. 🚫

Hey all, in an effort to drop some domain costs, I'm going to be moving some things around. Wireframe will now be found at wireframe.ds.house.

The original link will work until it expires and I'll put in a proper redirect next year.

Yesterday I reviewed Tokenscript by the folks at Tokens Studio on Wireframe and how it's very similar to an idea I promoted 2 years ago.

YouTube Live settings are awful. TIL that if you set anything other than Normal latency, the livestream processing after the show can be delayed, making sharing the link to the stream broken. Great job YouTube, really helpful for content creators. 😒

Typical that this week where I had tons of things planned, my body said absolutely not. 🤕

I missed the Smashing lightning talks tonight and likely missing the NYC conference that I've been looking forward to all year.

I'm hoping I'm better by Thursday to join Patterns. I missed it earlier in May.
