No seriously, if you don’t already know me I’m not interesting enough to follow.
Watching a documentary on Pompeii and I’m like AHHH THATS WHERE I WAS.

Anyhoo there I was!

3:02pm in front of my kids school. Around 500 students go here.

School pickup doesn’t have to be a traffic nightmare.

(Yes, some parents drive, but they tend to park nearby and walk in, you generally see one or two cars go by every 30 seconds or so.)

It might be too early plan for next year, but anybody have any ideas for how to do a beheaded costume without altering the dress? My 2025 costume was a “slightly before French Revolution aristocrat” and I’d love to move her forward a few years for next year, but I ain’t cutting a hole in this!

Good news everybody! Went to an olive oil tasting and I am now an insufferable snob with Opinions about olive oil.

Did we visit Pompeii on the 1946th anniversary of the eruption? Seems likely.

Caught it.

Well, I did find some Firenze sheep at least. Sort of. Not very fluffy, but I’ll take what I can get.

Just to be clear: while I am in France right now, I’m in Cannes, not Paris, and I was nowhere near the Louvre, and I have a rock solid alibi.

In case you were wondering.

Saw this from the sky, utterly stunning!

She spins? She spins. And plies. Finishing tomorrow, but I think it’s going to turn out exactly how I’d hoped! I think I am a step closer to being an Intentional Spinner instead of a “whatever the wheel gives me” spinner. Which is exciting. To me, anyway.

Rotterdam, 2018. What an absolute delight. Think of how much space would have to be set aside for cars to handle the same volume of people.

My bus just got rerouted around it.

Coming to Knit City today? Come visit me at booth 76, I’ll be elbow deep in wool prep for a Sheep to Scarf demonstration!

Babysaur: yes, but not for that.
Me: oh? Ok, what am I a bad parent for?
Babysaur: the sheep designs on your nails.

Well, if that’s my biggest sin, I think I’m doing ok.

Happy Spin In Public Day to all who celebrate.

This bunny celebrated by having his fur spun straight off his back!

The Marpole end is definitely unusable, although I think it may be considered “active” in that CP Rail comes out to check the lights at the crossing on Hudson monthly.

The one that literally goes nowhere. It’s covered over by a storage company on one side and ends 50 feet away on the other side.

I don’t mind most of it but this? This is bullshit. No coins AT ALL? Honestly, that plus the jacked up rate of everything that costs coins feels like a huge cash grab. My motivation to just fuck around and play intermittently is massively diminished.

Am pleased. This is a swatch of yarn that started as a sheep fleece, and I have scoured, picked, carded, spun, and knit this swatch. It is the product of SO MANY hours of work. It’s just a sample so I know how I want to spin the rest, but it’s the beginning of the end stage and it’s lovely.

We’re not talking about the level of anxiety this caused me.
September 6, 2025 at 2:57 AM
Hahahah so I wanna point out this book takes place on the Washington coast, couple hours southwest of Seattle. And the FMC correctly identifies a typhoon as a TROPICAL STORM, but somehow this one originated in… Alaska.

I’m dying. This is hilarious.

Have a few minutes til school is out so here we go. We got the window covers at the end of July so lines up nicely with our billing period. I’d say it’s making a decent difference.

“What kind of bird always says the name of our next band?”

100% framing, 1% clouds.

(This joke will make more sense when you play the game.)
