So Trump imposes blanket tariffs, and only when a CEO pays him $5 million will he offer a carveout. Anyone who thinks he’s “draining the swamp” is either complicit or a fool.

One more note to this bracing essay: the US Constitution, while not being very old, is nonetheless the oldest of all current democratic charters. Democracy is a very new thing in the world, and not deeply rooted.
