A little too conservative. I know it's on the road, and there's no striker, but they looked pretty flat. Newcastle look their best on the front foot.

You can't play every player, every game. You need different tools in your toolbox. Ramsey will definitely be used. Especially if they start getting injuries.

J7 gets dropped in a 442. They have loads of options is the point. Howe doesn't like to be committed to a single formation. He's had to do a 433 almost exclusively out of necessity. But you saw him tinker with 5 at the back. Flexibility allows Howe to tailor strats to each team and situation better.

Newcastle hasn't brought in anyone in almost 2 years. The number people were throwing around coming into the summer was £200m to spend. They sold Kelly and Longstaff (and Kuol) for £31m+ together, which in PSR value, gives them about £150m more to spend, so they should still be well under.
