After doing over a decade of activism on the ground to get more homes built here in California. This line is the crux of why purely local reforms do not work.

You can have hundreds of hours of community meetings and still will not convince a critical mass of people to build an apartment complex

I personally think it should be illegal for a city government have a public “workshop” go for 7 hours until 2am.

I love how people vote against housing in a housing shortage based on the vibe of a building. la.urbanize.city/post/glendal...

Dear Natomas Landing Instagram ad makers. Your bike trail is too small and pushed a kid and their caregiver off into the grass because the pathways need to be much wider

I like that Bonta went after the "Not sports gambling but totally is" websites like PrizePicks that operate in California.

I know one guy who is losing hundreds $$$ on it. How TF is this not just gambling with extra steps:

When I saw local politicians jump at excitement over the move, I was hesitant because Fisher likes to screw over fans in Oakland.

But he wouldn't do that to fans in Sacramento? Right? Right?

It was great to have our Mayor, activists, and law enforcement experience the major gaps in what has the bones for a high quality class 1 trail. Back of the napkin costs are $10M to $15M to fix all of the gaps we saw and more. (8/8)

The full trail is about 8 miles and is supposed to efficiently connect the 100,000 residents of Natomas to Downtown, the American River bike trail, and Del Rio Trail. But the gaps today make it not a reality. (7/x)

The last gap that they highlighted is at Airport Rd which is an industrial road with little markings. The connects to San Juan, a stroad. Staff have begun scoping what design would look like but that’s as far as I got.

About a mile until you get back on regular trails from this gap (6/x)

One very hard to solve crossing is to cross Truxel Blvd, it’s up to 10 lanes wide and is basically mini highway. Including an awkward turn back onto the path (Blue highlights)
