Cars have got too big

10am: looking out my window traffic is backed up all the way to the town centre. I look on google maps it's backed up all the way to the M8. Big chunks of the M8 are dark red. I never used to see it like this.

No more Kung Fu and lesbian vampires for me. It's high brow film time: Kubrick's Barry Lyndon. My review does have a Sigue Sigue Sputnik reference (not ultraviolence).

We look back at Stanley Kubrick's tale of a young Irish rogue, Barry Lyndon, which is now out in a 4K Blu-ray edition www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/barry... #filmsky 🎬

That's me just got jagged, flu and COVID vaccines. My eyes have started going a wee bit scritchy so it's off to bed for a bit.

I've done a couple of reviews. Perfect Blue one of my all time favourite Anime and the new UHD of Jacob's Ladder. Everyone hatted it when it came out, now its a classic. #filmsky #anime #horror

I just reviewed Werner Herzog's Nosferatu The Vampyre, the film and 4K disc. I never liked the film much when I first saw it, as a teenager, but now knowing more about Klaus Kinski and Herzog's mistreatment of animals I like it even less. I can't separate art from the artist. #filmsky

This has what is called a THEME TUNE!.

When I review old things I like to do a little bit of research so that I can get the context right. It turns out that there is not much information on police corruption in 1970s London. It's almost like there has been a cover up. #tvseries #filmsky

Back when I was a kid my gran got me to watch Seven Samurai (and a few other things like Closely Observed Trains). Loved Kurosawa ever since. Anyway here is my review of The Hidden Fortress and its Blu-ray. #StarWars precursor #filmsky

Took a wee bicycle trip out to Dunoon and then Puck's Glen yesterday. Didn't quite go according to plan. I left my camera bag behind so had to race back from near Kilmacolm. Fortunately it was on the couch not the front step. To make up lost time I jumped a train to Gourock. #cycling #outdoors

Yesterday I crossed the Rubicon and formatted the drive that had Windows 10 on it. No more ntfs, just virgin ext4 and one lonely little lost+found. #windows #linux

Why Do I Still Have A Din To PS/2 converter? or How Many Blanking Plates Does One Need. Having upgraded my PC I finally went through the big box of old parts and took out the beyond obsolete. I loaded up one pannier and road somewhat lop sided to the recycling centre. #PC

I have just installed Arch Linux on my upgraded computer. It is almost fully tweaked to my liking. #Arch #Linux

Arch Linux install: success.
Black screen and command prompt.
Time to install some packages with pacman.
Read the manual.

>man pacman: fail.

In order read the manual page you have install the manual:

>pacman -S man

You can't use pacman without first using pacman.

So much for rtfm.
