all in all I'm happy with my purchase! it's definitely a bit pricey for how little new to play there is at launch, but I'm really happy my entire Switch library transferred over seamlessly

also the Switch 1 costs more now than when I got it at launch and I fully expect the same here lol

hopefully the motion clarity is something that can be improved with software updates, but for now I think I'll only be using this thing hooked up to my TV

my biggest gripe with handheld, though, is the screen itself - there's something about it that makes every game feel like a ton of motion blur's been added

I'm probably just sensitive to that kind of thing, but it's bad enough to be a constant distraction while playing

handheld, however, is... not great. the Switch 2 just isn't comfortable to hold compared to my Switch or ROG Ally, and backwards compatible games at 720p (or less in a lot of cases) look pretty bad blown up on the bigger 1080p screen

Pokemon Violet is a completely different experience with its free upgrade, and games like Monster Hunter Stories 2 that had inconsistent uncapped framerates run *perfectly* on the better hardware

docked, this thing is incredible. playing TotK and MK World at such high fidelity and a smooth 60fps is giving me the same sense of wonder as when I bought my PS5 for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

or the other way around, a few enemies have Elden Ring ass fakeouts with just enough of a delay to hit you right after the dodge animation ends 😭

was hoping to finish over the long weekend but there's so much to do and I keep getting distracted by side content and the combat is satisfying as hell and the buildcrafting is great

what a game

I mean the animation was as absurdly gorgeous as the first season but it seemed like they completely abandoned the strong character writing to shove in way too many storylines and pace them as badly as humanly possible
