I remember what it was like from when we stayed on Amsterdamsestraatweg in 2017. Cycling on here was still better than most UK roads (except for the odd parked car) but it really was a traffic sewer and pretty grim place to be. Looks significantly better now!

Then it was back home along the Bridgewater Canal.

Next, we parked ourselves at Aviva Studios and relaxed over multiple cups of tea. Should come here more often, it’s quite chilled.

Next to Campfield, where we grabbed some lunch. Great seeing these old buildings coming to life.

Made our way over to St John’s, where we parked the bikes and went for a wander. That empty car park was the location of the Coronation Street set and Mollie’s hotel, the old Granada TV building.

Talking of pavement parking, this lovely example at Middlewood Locks. That lovely paving will be knackered soon.

Ride there was lovely too. Cold though, I’ll have to get the winter tyres fitted soon.

Stopped for arancini on King St (not quite up to Sicilian standards, but always a nice reminder of old times). Then along Market St and to Piccadilly “Gardens”, which is rammed with stalls, but a little less horrible than normal. Like the new Rylands sign, wonder how long since it said that?

Headed up the big wheel in Albert Square. I’m not always great with heights, but this was fine. Great views of Manchester though!

I've never actually done the ride from the ferry terminal. Hoping to get round to it at some point, but will probably have to be a solo trip or at least get the OH an e-bike. I do miss the North Sea coast and the dunes when we stay further inland though.
