Most of my and my siblings clothes in the 1940s and early 50s were made from grain sacks (my dad had a coal and grain store). Pretty designs and rugged cloth.

My mother's direct ancestor came to America in 1630 (on one of the ships shortly after the Mayflower) and yes, immigrants even then. My father's folks came later, from Scotland and Wales, sometime in the 1800s. Yes, immigrants virtually all of us.

My graphic designer friend (sadly now deceased) actually made this logo (one of many he designed)! He might find this funny, actually - he had a great sense of humor.

A Trader Joe's here in Bellingham recently opened their newest store here in a former Bed Bath & Beyond and it is spectacular! One of the nicest I have been in (and I came from a place where we were blessed with 4 of them).

I know my daughter at her Utah restaurant will continue to display not only pride emblems but also those that support all the wild lands under threat by those who only want to line their pockets. Check out Hell's Backbone Grill and Farm in Boulder and visit if you can.
