But now we are not just printing books with trees. We are not digitizing for minimal impact.

We burn coal & fossil fuel at alarming rate to rationalize the benefits of the latest online tech.

We'd never print books on human skin. Bad example, we're a terrible species. Never at that quantity maybe.

I think the internet was not a bad idea. But despite attention it gets (for cults or how to build a bomb) it visibly serves as a moderate reinforcement loop, on main.

Just as printing press was mainly used for bibles. Then less visibly at the time, William Blake etc emerge. I doubt he'd be on here.

So much of what we want or aspire for under capitalism is subject to the Epwn Msk's of the world NOT coveting the same thing on a larger scale—or fucking it all up.

Why attach to digital tokens as if they hold importance?

Our human resistance does not need a perfect or recognized name to continue.

What if his faith prevents him from seeing darkness, only light? Do I have to say a hail father or something? It's been a while...

Wait no rich person who is NOT currently at the top of their corporate ladder wants to lose that access to power?

Oh darn! I just didn't want the next line of successors to spend so much time shadowing überfascists: learning their tactics through osmosis (& usually heaps of inflicted trauma afaik).

Combine raw milk deregulation with the likely re-emergence of screw-worm in Texas* and it's got the makings of a nasty cocktail.

*and now, without access to the same volume of skilled laborers that existed in 1930s

Don't be the one dunking on those who seek comfort during these times, is the message I guess.

I have my own feelings about myself seeking comfort that are rooted in the pretty toxic ideologies I was raised on.

So I guess, as always, self-reflection is important, too.

It's a seed jet, it will burrow deep underground and collect nutrients for many years until 20 jets blossom in a flying v that flies out, raining terror down on enemies of freedom and peace and rational thinking

Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

The Atlantic's @dkthomp.bsky.social wrote about a worrying trend in the economic data—the unemployment rate for recent college graduates is unusually high. One theory: Firms are hiring fewer grads into white collar jobs, and using more AI.

*This* is what an AI jobs crisis might look like.
