Curious as to whether this only evaluated Abrahamic (namely Christian) backgrounds or if other religious backgrounds were part of the study?

Media is always a product of the time it was made, and it cannot be removed from the cultural context of when it was produced. We always have to factor that in when trying to understand media. Always.

This is my first time watching through all of these movies, and so watching this now, nearly 30 years later, means that the basketball scenes stand out to me a lot. (But I am also a Chicagoan, so I am very familiar with Michael Jordan and his career. So I have the cultural context to understand.)

This movie came out in 1997, which was arguably the height of Michael Jordan's basketball career. Basketball would have been huge around this time, so it is just fascinating to me to have this be part of the movie.

Also you cannot tell me that she vents the shuttle and Jones somehow survives. It must be a mechanical cat.

WHAT I CANNOT BELIEVE, THOUGH, is that she would allow her underwear to be SO LOW on her hips that you can see her full ass crack when she turns around....without immediately fixing it.

(Tell me this movie was directed by a man without telling me this movie was directed by a man.)

Also there's a scene where Lois and Clark argue about whether Clark is punk, and it is both hilarious AND ACCURATE. I sided with Clark, actually. Radical empathy IS the real punk.

Anyway, the new Superman is good. If you can, go see it in theaters, since there's a bunch of people bitching about Clark being called an immigrant. Which...he is. It's a major part of his backstory, character, AND EVEN HIS SUPERPOWERS.

Which can then be extrapolated as Clark is trans, and now I am going down a meta rabbit hole about Superman.

In fact, I would argue she is 100% Not Straight, given Clark is...an alien.

"None gender with left girl," is one that I like to toss out sometimes. (Not for me, but as an option for others, a la the infamous pizza meme.)
