I didn't mean to come off as hostile. It's that if we're talking about writing a law, there's quite a bit to consider. As someone who writes tons of software, it is incredibly complex. Nearly any law surrounding software has been a detriment. However privacy is a different beast!

How would you enforce this new legislation, especially in complex software such as an operating system, where update might mean the difference between securing a user's data and privacy and opening up potential attack vectors?
