Gorier but tame in comparison to contemporary fare, watch all of the Hammer variations of the Universal Monsters: Horror of Dracula, Curse of Frankenstein, The Mummy, Curse of the Werewolf

Corbyn was the autocorrect for Cornyn.

💯. I don't get Paxton or Cruz. Charmless and unlikeable. I hate Abbott and Corbyn too, but I get their appeal. They support monstrous policies but on the surface seem normal. Paxton and Cruz give off creepy.

More inexpensive, more interactive, indie wrestling is fantastic.

Yeah. That's Huntington Park (where much of my family grew up). Predominantly Latino. The HB City Council, in Huntington Beach CA (where I grew up and where my siblings still live) , is full of far-right fanatics. The city is rife with White supremacists.

At Globe Life, I saw a guy over served like a mofo who got abandoned by his girlfriend midshow. He was ridiculously wasted.

I had been checking all week thinking no way VIPs would fill the seats. Driving up from Houston, we're 30 miles south of Waco, I have my son check and now it's there. But no seats appeared available.

I like the Batman Unburied podcasts. Season one has Winston Duke as Batman. The second season Riddler: Secrets in the Dark adds Hasan Minaj as the Riddler and Coleman Domingo replaces Duke as Batman. Third season of Batman Unburied has Domingo return as Batman. Great, fun stuff.

As a kid, felt like everyone read Hammer of the Gods, the Zeppelin bio. And teenage me was gagged by the story about the girl and the shark. And now adult me is "holy shit, these groupies were 14 and 15" and most of these guys seem to get a pass on that.

Best meal I had last year was a duck confit poutine in Montreal. Absolutely divine.

As a kid, I always imagined Jaws and The Amityville Horror took place in the same town.

That ending...like I expect it to be controversial, but avoiding spoilers in describing it, no way people can anticipate why it would be controversial. I smiled when it happened but for me it really impacted the initial vibe the movie had created. Wicked dissonance.

The community protecting him on the train, absolutely Capraesque! Never saw it until you mentioned it. Always makes me misty.

As a kid, when we'd visit family in Mexico, these signs and products made me giggle.

Non-generic letters of rec. And the "prestige" of the author mattered less than the sincerity of their recommendation.

MCU Jake Tapper.

Have you seen a performance of Kate Hamill's adaptation of Little Women? Although it literally ends with Beth, it centers Beth's relationship with Jo over any of the March relationships with Laurie in very interesting ways.

The only good thing about the last film was Karen Allen reenacting the boat scene from Raiders. Sexy as ever. Until I think too hard about the Indy/Marion timeline.

That single shot at the ball where different principle characters came out of the periphery and into the foreground, so good...

I guess now it just hurts more now. As the arts (particularly performing arts) are such a queer space, I am just gobsmacked when I learn about the right-wing politics of some contemporary artists.
