This is the PF3000 - a wall of giant touch pixels that allow you to draw and animate sprites with your hands - we're getting it ready with new sensors. Been fine tuning values on the touch controller. Things are working pretty good now. #leds #ledart #autumnlights #interactiveart #pixelart

Playing around with the FABRIK algorithm for procedural animation. The arm is following my mouse pointer which you can't see in the video. I have a dev log coming for this soon. Give me a follow so you can get on that when it comes out.

Given I've only ever done some of this stuff is code, godot sure gives you the tools. Today we learned about tile map layers, terrain, collisions and y-sorting. Planned maybe a secret area or two too! This is is really fun! #godot #gamedev #pixelgame #passion #nevertooold #indiegame

Walk cycle in godot - super easy to setup. I'm getting excited about pixel game dev. Need to keep learning though - who knows maybe i'll make something cool?

Procedural Animation take 1 - this is the 'chain of circles' technique (idk what the technique is formally called). I'll have another blog post up soon but i just really really wanted to show you all a video of this working.

Learning about animation state machines in Unreal in class today. Honestly, Unreal impresses me so much in its animation capability. There's a bunch of different ways to blend animations and you can really see how (with a talented animator) you can put together a character. #unreal #indiegame

Just working on a capacitive touch based interactive art piece. We have the sensitivity cranked way up so things are acting a bit more like proximity sensors at the moment and I'm having some fun painting with my hands.

Alright - now we've got raycasted bullet collisions with pawns AND AND AND.... death animations. pew pew splat.

Now we have the speed and direction of the character driving the animation blend for natural looking anim. There's a little calculation you have to do relative to how the feet are animated to make it look right (luckily i had a class show me this). Now we're dancing.

I just learned about anim blending in unreal. I know this is old news but my mind is totally blown right now. Unreal can literally figure out how to animate correctly by blending specific animations. Whoa, just whoa.

Just finished the next section of my unreal class. We setup a little tank vs turret game. This section was learning about how to do some simple gameplay stuff in C++. It even has controller support via enhanced input. Still a long way to go. #gamedev #learning #maybesomeday #unreal

I hurt my ear so been doing a little detour from music and learning some unreal engine with c++. I made a disappearing wall \o/ #gamedev #maybesomeday #unrealengine #learning

very excited to fire these babies up and continue my journey into mouseless mixing in logic pro. since i'm getting into channel strip workflows in particular, i think today i will try this 'legendary' ssl compressor trick where you start with a high threshold and roll the ratio ever so slowly.
