My #xmen origin story: I was 11 or 12, coming out of Kingsway Theater in Brooklyn after a movie. There was a comics shop right next door that I'd never noticed, so I went in. I knew Superman and Batman, but had never really read comics before. Went to the back where the TPBs were, picked this one.

Sometimes I just stop and think about the fact that the entire mainline Final Fantasy series is available on PC. Sure, caveats apply - I really wish the Dawn of Souls/Advance content for at *least* II and IV had been included - but still... 20 years ago I wouldn't have thought it possible at all.

Seeing so many reviews of Avowed being like "The story is whatever but the combat is GREAT" makes me realize two things:
1. None of you hoes played Deadfire.
2. If combat's the only thing people are talking about, Avowed isn't designed to appeal to players who enjoyed Pillars of Eternity. 🤷♂️

Admittedly, the Dragon Age news doesn't hurt as much as I thought it might - I think I already did most of my grieving for Thedas after Inquisition made it clear where things were going. But that's not the fault of the people who made the games, so: #ThankYouDADevs, past and present.

I, for one, am glad to see James Gunn proudly continue DC's decades-long tradition of endlessly explaining its own continuity, and overcomplicating it to the point that even a full-blown reboot doesn't make it even slightly simpler to grasp.

The Silent Hill 2 remake wasn't a ton of fun for me to play - wayyy too much combat, I just got tired of the slog after Brookhaven. But having seen other playthroughs, the narrative, performances and music really are all top-notch. Maybe someday I'll try again on lower difficulty and push through...
