Author and critic. Whimsical.
Session 1 of my new Pathfinder 2e game was mostly taken up with an Influence mini-game that resulted in the villain initiating their big plan several hours early.

Am I the only person who thinks hand painting a chess set sounds ace?
Imagine if you had to buy each chess piece separately for ten thousand dollars and then give them painstakingly detailed custom paint jobs, based on one of a dozen factions with novels worth of Lore

The text may dictate any number of things, but the reader is under no obligation to accept them. Indeed, all acts of reading are in some way acts of interpretation ... and the reader can learn from a text even if they reject its message.
To anyone who needs it today:
Read anything you want to, in whatever medium you like. There are no guilty pleasures, no objectively worthless, improving or harmful books. No-one can judge your choice of book, because no-one knows why you’re reading it, or what you choose to take from it.

One of the interesting things about following so few people, is that I see snippets of heated pontification that have absolutely no context.

Gunsmith Cats.

I'm pretty indifferent to the anime itself, but damn that's a good intro.
What are the best TV theme songs of all time? Not the best shows — but the opening songs that immediately get you pumped when you hear the first few notes?

My top 5 (not in order)

Game of Thrones
The Office (US)
Poirot
Narcos
Law & Order

What did I miss?

1. Hugh Grant-esque romantic;
2. Absolute shithouse;
3. Comic relief.
Chatting to some friends about the sort of RPG characters I tend to play, and this came out. In short...

1) Human Labradors.
2) Disaster Bisexuals.
3) Manipulative shitheads

Everyone always talk about classes they play. What personality types do you play?

...and for my upcoming Pathfinder campaign, some Victrix Normans (henchmen of the Black Knight). I'm really pleased with how straightforward these were. #miniaturespainting

I was determined to finish painting some models this weekend, miniatures hobby clan; I can't say it was all that productive, but have a (Battletech) Wraith.

I backed Mantic's MyMiniFactory campaign so I could 3D print little fantasy ships... I was pleasantly surprised to find their Armada game is a re-skin of Black Seas, so it's probably fine. :)

Battletech - it's Dune written by military history nerds who are high on giant robots.

See also, Tulips (1634-37).
I'm so shocked. Who could ever have seen this one coming? Paint me pink and call me a banana my shockitude runneth over.
NFTs are officially dead.

95% of NFTs are estimated to be literally worthless, with pieces from top collections mostly worth $5-$10.

Roughly 25 million people are sat on dead assets, thanks to celebrity endorsements. The speculative bubble has popped:

Did a session zero for my forthcoming Arthurian Pathfinder game last night. Immediately fell back into the "can you hear us?" nonsense... I suspect because having one bad connection on the call fucks it for everybody...

I've recently leaned that if you set out to compose an Arthurian Romance with a lot of D&Disms, you end up with *Three Hearts and Three Lions*
