Cancelled my subscription Friday and went to DirecTV. I miss YTTV, but I wasn't going to miss college football or MNF or the NBA games on ESPN. Sports is all that's keeping me going in this mad world.

I used to believe we were better than this. I used to believe we could disagree and still find ways to work together to solve problems and actually govern. That belief is rapidly fading. I'm 48 years old, and I've never seen anything like this. It's shameful and unacceptable and unnecessary.

What are we doing? What is happening? So many people are affected by these shenanigans and our lack of a functioning government, and my problem is tiny compared to so much hurt that people are experiencing, hurt that is only going to get worse. I'm so disgusted and embarrassed.

Our equine population, our companion animals, & others. I logged onto the USDA website and saw a snide & partisan message about the "radical left Democrats" having shut down the federal government. I sent a message to my area-veterinarian-in-charge & got an automated reply saying they're furloughed.
