Educator, Immigrant, Mom, and Life long Democrat (which means I've had my heart broken more than a few times). Right now in the process of dusting myself off and getting ready for the battles to come.
My sentiments exactly. Democrats need to stop saving the idiots who keep voting for hate. They never feel the consequences of their voting choices. This time around I want them to feel the pain, even if it means I’ll feel it too.

What wears me down is all of the outrage and disbelief. I feel, this time around, we had a clear idea of what to expect. We need to focus on meaningful political acts of resistance and rebuilding not click bait headlines of outrage. We knew it was going to be bad. We shouldn’t be shocked.

I’d feel bad except that their resentment of people who are different than them was more Important than their own economic interests and the interest of the nation. I hope they reap the consequences of their vote. Who you vote for matters.

Made sense the first time when we all thought it was an anomaly, but not this time around. I feel that the people who voted for him deserve the pain of his policies so they might be more enlightened.

Yes, ditto that. While I’ve liked some of the films made by directors who became famous in the 70s, many of them are just self indulgent and boring. Your thread puts Coppola in a different light for me, and now I have a better excuse to never watch an other movie by him again.
