As residents and fellows move from students to independent physicians it is our mission to provide them with the knowledge, skills, attitude, and judgement to be successful in autonomous clinical practice. 🥼

Things we value in our residents, fellows, programs leaders and GME staff. Look for a couple of these today.

Out of the vision comes the missions. Informing all of that, are our values.

Day 5/6 of laying out the mission. How do you ensure excellence? You expose residents and fellows to all the great things they can do as physician leaders, help them find their passion, then work with them to make it possible. Get those elements right and it won’t even take ‘striving’, tbh.

Joy, curiosity, discovery. When I speak about “cultivating” excellence, this is what I’m talking about. Doing everything to till that soil and make a rich environment for our learners and educators. This is a HUGE task with 100’s of things required to make it happen. That’s the job.

Day 3 of the mission: caring for the amazing people who allow our residents and fellows to do what they do. It takes an enormous team to cultivate excellence and to innovate. A big part of what we do in CU GME it to care for that team, inside and outside our offices. Thank you all.

The vision is simple, the mission has several components. Yesterday, providing leadership and education. Today, supporting our residents and fellows in all the ways they need to be successful and independent. I know housestaff training can be challenging, that's why we're here.
