I am the product of three historical events that make me uniquely American: the settlement of the Americas by Eurasian migrants 25,000 years ago; the European conquest of the “New World”; and the African Slave Trade. Had any of these not occurred, I would not exist, and neither would America. Woke!

Ours was pinochle! The losers drank water. My family is highly competitive, so pinochle was perfect for us - a lot of skill and a little luck and lots of laughter, snacks, and humility to boot!

Some classics books to add: Sigmund Freud’s “Civilization and Its Discontents” and “Interpretation of Dreams” and Carl Jung’s “Modern Man in Search of a Soul” and”Memories, Dreams, and Reflections.” These books are about the internal and external dimensions of the human psyche. Enjoy the journey!
