NSW Premier Chris Minns says he will speak with talkback icon John Laws’ family about how is best to honour him as tributes flow after the announcement of his death on Sunday.
“We’ll do everything we can to acknowledge his legacy and reputation for Australia and broadcasting. So if they would like [a state funeral], we’d love to offer it,” Minns said on Nine’s Today show.
In a statement, Minns said: “His legacy lies not only in the thousands of hours on air, but in the connection he forged with millions of Australians. It is hard to take @chrisbowenmp.bsky.social seriously when he says things like this. Woodside's North West Shelf project will do nothing to support Australia's energy grid; is a very polluting project; and culturally destructive.

The dotted line is land use change. It is responsible for basically all of the reduction in carbon emissions, and is not the subject of any federal government policy intervention. These are the national greenhouse gas accounts as of the latest data.

There's a new Lend Lease development planned at 175 Liverpool St, opposite Hyde Park in Sydney. The concept designs shown are looking from a perspective that is currently a back alley between two office buildings - I don't see how this view will eventuate (and suspect it never will).
