The main reason I don’t like the location referencing is that it can quickly elevate what may be a random shooting into a political incident before more is known.

Unpopular opinion; I don’t think it was scare baiting/mongering to hype up the Davis case (no matter how looney the merits) since a Justice had mentioned overturning many cases (Griswold, Loving, Obergefell) unprompted in an opinion. This case would’ve given them cover for them to do so 🤷♂️
