Despite my complaints about Traitors, I watched the entire series of Celebrity Traitors UK, because celebrities. And they were celebrities I'd actually heard of and found interesting, not the kind that get called celebrity in U.S. reality shows.

Husband started humming "Try to Remember" (from The Fantastiks.) I then recalled a MAD Magazine song parody from the 1972 presidential campaign era set to this tune. I sang it. Lyrics in next post.

I'm happily amused that I seem to have added these important birthdays as permanent annual reminders to my desktop calendar:
Margaret Dumont
Arlene Francis
Bela Lugosi
I include a photo here of a pendant that belonged to my mom or grandma. Does it look familiar?

$4.99 is a pretty sweet price for an Ebook, but if that's still not within your budget, Lewis Sinclair and the Gentlemen Cowboys is available in many fine libraries throughout the land.
Go to www.overdrive.com and copy and paste:

She was so important to me and so iconic of the 70s, I featured a reporter character based on her in my 70s-film parody. Perhaps not the most prestigious honor, but the one I could make.

We had a coconut cake shaped like a rabbit in our department that we kept on display for 10 years. One day, when no one in our department was around, someone in an adjacent department had the janitor throw it away.

An answer in today's New Yorker puzzle is "polymaths." (I assume that's the answer. I got frustrated at not knowing many other answers and quit the puzzle in a fit of pique.) Later, during my exercise regimen, listening to Amy Poehler interview Natasha Lyonne, they repeated spoke of polymaths.
