The midterms, where dems could flip both the House and the Senate are only a year away. That might seem like forever, but it's not. At my age it will pass in the blink of an eye.
And it's only 4-6 months before the primaries start heating up. Stay tuned. And don't give up hope.

And just to elaborate. In my personal experience, a hug or even a pat on the back is like crossing an ocean of (non-sexual) intimacy. We need it. And it's good for our mental health.

Interesting observation. I didn't make the connection but there's a moment when Victor says, "Don't touch me!" That stayed with me in the back of my mind until you brought it up.
There's a lot in this movie about human connection. Touch is perhaps the most intimate expression of that connection.
