The ship has since undergone extensive restoration of the hull; that “bathtub ring” of corrosion at the waterline has undergone complete replacement of the hull plating. Much of the superstructure and masts have been refurbished as well.

The D ration was basically a bitter chocolate bar with a high melting point. The bar was deliberately de-sweetened to discourage soldiers from snacking on them.
