Oh no! I guess this woodcut art at my mom’s assisted living facility must have fallen on me..

Finally! All the quilting done and the edges trimmed.

I made the binding this evening so almost ready for the final step!

I’m going to make a label for the back and put it on before I start attaching the binding.

I’m still working on the quilt that I’m making from my late father’s shirts. After a bit of a setback and redoing a large part of it, I’m finally back on track.

I’ve been watching the Sopranos while I sew this 😂

Update! I finally got it all put back together and put the border on. The size is about 75 x 45

They also had some pretty impressive Mardi Gras headpieces that people had donated, obviously these were not part of the $20

RikRack is a great place to check out. 321 Burgundy.

It was a lot of cool stuff at the sale. There was an entire rack of tuxedos and all different sizes, Mardi Gras costumes, and gowns. Here in New Orleans, people ate this stuff up.

The best thing was that I got this almost – finished project…somebody started making a quilted purse. I really lucked out because in a different bin I found the rest of the fabric and the instructions! Looks like all I need to do is make some straps and it will be finished. All this for $20.

What a great morning! RikRack is a local non-profit that teaches sewing and funds their programs thru selling donated fabric, notions, Mardi Gras costumes, etc. Today they are having a bag sale so for $20 I was able to fill my bag up with all kinds of great treasures.

True. But all of Michael’s did was put up some little signs. And maybe bring out a bunch of yarn.

Those of us were looking for fabric are in the desert now
November 14, 2025 at 1:08 AM
They most definitely did not. My Michaels doesn’t have any more fabric right now than before, but they have some cute little headers over the fabric aisle saying that it’s now Michael’s plus Joanne. It’s not even worth driving over there for.

I got a dog version of that. I’m going to be brave and make my very first garment from a pattern with it.

The first I’m going to make a muslin so maybe I will know what I’m doing when I make the real thing. I’m nervous and excited.

Y’all, there’s an estate sale coming up this weekend that has 2 sergers in the pictures. I’m so tempted, but I don’t really know a lot about them and I don’t know how much they are worth.

I was planning on plugging them in make to make sure they work.

Any advice from your experts?

The fabric selection at Michael’s is no different than it was before Joanne went out of business. It looks like all they did was put up some little cardboard things. Over the aisle to rebrand it, but this was one aisle and half of another one, no more than they’ve ever had.

I made this tote bag from a Thrifted table runner.

Well, I did it. It turned out that my pattern for the pocket bag was too small, so I may pick it out and do a different one but at least now I kind of understand the process.
