Fingertips. Fiiingeeertiiiiiiiips.
Dave, as your closest Dave relation, I don't believe I need to say that I'm disappointed you shaved your beard. You seem to be acutely aware of the consequences this has on our heritage. I forgive you, and I hope this can be a learning experience for you and all other Daves tempted by the razor.

I'm just now noticing that a good third of my posts are about taking naps. I think that means I might need a nap.

Death as in iMark is never turned back on again. He leaves work, they tell oMark he's fired, and oMark never returns to the severed floor. Thus iMark is dead, in a manner of speaking.

Eh, if you don't like it, that's cool! No skin off my back. I'm legitimately not on a crusade here, I just wanted to reinject some of the magic for you if there was a chance because I am loving this show and want to share that joy. Thanks for the discussion

He was kind, and thus he was taken advantage of. oMark saw iMark as a means to an end, that's why their conversation was botched so badly. Cobel told iMark that once Cold Harbor was done, he would have served his purpose and been discarded. For him, it's stay or die.

It's been well established that reintegration is not done yet, he's got a ton more to go. He's only getting tiny, brief flashes of crossover. For all intents and purposes, they are still separate, distinct people, not simultaneously operational.

Sure, it doesn't make sense *to you*. But what one person thinks is "logical," others think is batshit crazy. Happens all the time, just look at politics. We're free to criticize decisions, but perhaps our energy would be better served asking why iMark thought staying was the logical decision.

IMO, seems like your dissatisfaction is rooted in the feeling that you would have acted differently had you been in iMark's situation, and perhaps you would have, which is fine! I'd also point out the show asks pointedly if innies are their own people. If so, should their decisions be respected?

oMark would never, ever voluntarily return to Lumon after he got his wife back. And he could reintegrate, but there's no way Helena would, so iMark is guaranteed to never see Helly again.

This is the first time he's ever gotten true agency, the first time he's had the opportunity to choose himself.

Occam's razor: If the rest of the show is so "brilliantly written", then perhaps the reason you don't like the final plot decision is not because it's poorly written, but rather because you personally don't like it or understand it?

iMark knows that the instant he walks out that door, he's dead.
