Agreed. Usually when we go to a city, it's Louisville--because close enough--or Cincinnati--not as close but has Jungle Jim's--or Bloomington. Indy is usually for something specific to Indy, and there are fewer and fewer such things these days.

I do like the Craig films--love many of the set pieces, even in the last one--but I found them a little exhausting and less than thrilling. Bond really needs to be more fun. Not camp, but less grimly realistic.

Amen to all of this. I've thought of a few ways through too, but my preference would be "clean slate, have fun."
After the opening sequence of Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Kirk looks at Spock, "Aren't you dead?" Make a cheeky joke, wave it off, get on with the story.

Last year, the boys and I took a trip to Indianapolis, visited Circle Center downtown for old time's sake, it had been several years. We were stunned, it was nearly deserted, and closed to the public very shortly after we walked through. I remember when it was packed and thriving.

Yup. Makes me wonder about him--and that creative team--because I only saw this about half an hour ago and already thought of four ways to deal.
And that's not counting "clean slate, have fun" like they did with Casino Royale. There's no grand continuity here, nothing to "make a mockery of".

I've been fascinated by dying malls for years now. Muncie Mall is a near ghost town. For a while, Ball State had a bunch of space there for an architecture & civic planning project. Last I visited, it was maybe 80% empty.

My immediate reaction on seeing that was "why are they all AI?" Maybe it's a miracle the women don't also have matching beards.

I don't know that he'd have to stay dead. But there's little to no continuity through most of the films as it is, so why are they worried now?

I saw that all of fifteen minutes ago and already have four different ideas for how to do this. Not counting the whole "clean slate, go nuts" option like they did with Casino Royale.
Sure, Judi Dench is M there, but she's plausibly also not the same M as in the Brosnan films.

I was at an event yesterday where Rand Paul spoke via video and talked about how great it was to send ACA money "directly to the people" so that they could work collectively to get better deals on health care.

That's really the best case now.
