Oregon State Representative. Union Firefighter. Mom. Likes lifting heavy things, running far, nerdy policy. Personal account.

Resolute sin of empathy practitioner.
Fight back. Join staff from Neighborhood House and I at 2pm today at the Multnomah Arts Center to build connection and support and uplift the incredible work being done in our community.

Let’s build community together with Neighborhood House and keep our neighbors fed. Sunday 11/9, 2-4pm, Multnomah Arts Center. The following Sunday (same time and place) we’ll be learning how to protect our immigrant neighbors. Strategize. Organize. Mobilize.

And yes, there will be snacks.

Fascinating map of the impending SNAP cliff. The darker green counties (2 shades) are 20%+ SNAP- dependent households.

I said what I said.
Love, the pansies.

Would that perhaps look something like this?

A second TRO has been granted barring ANY federalized NG from coming into Oregon— unless conditions change. This is a monumental ruling in so many ways— and sets the stage for what comes next. Ie: if Trump obeys the rule of law and the courts.

Stay peaceful. Stay Portland. 💕

Today was incredibly painful but healing to walk with the @afspnational.bsky.social Oregon in hopes that no family has to feel this pain. That starts with connection.

Tomorrow needs you.

In loving fierce memory of Addison. ❤️

I mean clearly the southwest antifa rebel base is absolutely purring tonight!

I am absolutely fascinated by this. What could possibly be so interesting directly above my neighborhood?

I was waiting until next week to give this to you as a belated birthday present. But here’s a spoiler because we could all use moments of joy:

World Suicide Prevention Day. Another school shooting. The murder of Charlie Kirk. At the end of the day— all we have is our humanity and our ability to foster connection. To bring all of it out of the dark. To heal.

Transportation Update thread: As my punny colleague Rep Nosse… “sometimes the road is messy.” No one wants to have to pass a tax vote, but that’s the work of governing, keeping our roads usable and our families safe. To do that in the most accountable and thoughtful way possible is the goal. (1/5)

Some Republican colleagues are running around crowing about their “victory” defeating even the absolute bare minimum that would have prevented among other things these immediate layoffs of infrastructure and public safety workers. This is heartbreaking, heartless. and wholly preventable.

Someone sent me a screenshot of the front page of the PDF interactive @oregonian.com. Is this… real? DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN!

‼️ Update on SB 916: Unemployment Insurance for Striking Workers
June 13, 2025 at 1:42 AM
A HISTORIC WIN FOR WORKERS! Thank you to every single Oregon worker that testified, spoke in committee, called, & marched in support of SB 916. Thank you to those colleagues in the House and Senate who stood with me in support of the rights of workers to not starve while bargaining a fair contract.

Deploying US Troops against our own people is deeply un-American. Democrat, Republican, and everyone in between-- we can and should demand better.

I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.”

Last night I had the honor of serving as one of five judges for @literaryarts.bsky.social Verselandia! high school poetry slam competition, and you know what? The kids are not only okay, they are unbelievably talented, passionate, and unapologetically fearless.

And no, I wasn’t the mean judge 😉.

Over 3 million people, all ages, all walks of life, took to the streets yesterday and it’s not the front-page headline on a single major national paper?
