Giving $1 million of city money to pay for private security in the Byward Market is outrageous. All it will do is displace more unwell people into Centretown and surrounding communities. And announcing this at a press conference before consulting council? Not cool.

Poilievre & the MAGA CONS have been criticized for attacking scientists & research by pledging to cut funding for projects they label as influenced by woke ideology. This approach is seen as a threat to academic freedom & scientific integrity. Similar tactics used by far-right movements in the US.

Spoiler for an upcoming piece. Corporate Canada keeps advocating for population growth without housing growth. That's not pro-immigration; it's pro-exploitation. We can and must do better.

An observation- Poilievre almost never appears with caucus members or touts who will hold important cabinet positions.
He drags his wife along and children, but who will manage finance, environment, health portfolios??
He says "I" about everything - never "We". One man show.
