I think it *can* be useful, just not automatically useful. I certainly appreciate it in a conversation as it makes things easier to understand but all the consistency in the world is worth less than a shift at the hospital or a donation to the food bank (imo at least, your mileage may vary)

Plenty of people with totally incoherent politics who still help out at the local homeless shelter
