the main problem with the idea of 3rd party votes is that it takes vastly more votes to obliterate the two-party system than it would to just elect the guy that sucks more, so that's where you always end up first.

okay, I think we’ve located the disconnect. yeah, I agree that if Harris is president and somehow the porn ban law gets passed (she wouldn’t sign it) it could get overturned in court. When we talk about the dangers P25 we assume Trump won because he’s the candidate that wants to pass it

if the people who decide what the law means are loyal first and foremost to trump, and the people who enforce the law (cops) are almost all in the tank for him already, why would you assume that *only* the porn ban part will happen?

if we hit the point where p25 becomes the law of the land it means that shit has already happened and once your reasoned argument gets high enough up the chain it will be ignored pretty much automatically

as respectfully as possible: they really aren’t. Systems only work if the people in charge believe in them more than they believe in the authority of a strongman, and the whole point of P25 is to make sure the people in charge of the systems believe in the strongman and nothing else

It is categorically immoral to rely on other people to do the necessary work of preserving democracy while you remain pure and cast a protest vote to make a point no one will care and hope most people don't do what you did and democracy is actually saved. Grow the fuck up.
