The Lions currently rank in the top five in cap space. But based on a projected increase of 10%, the team is ~$40 million over the cap in '26 if we fill out the remaining roster spots with vet min deals. Here's how they can navigate it:
From $40 million under to $40 million over: How Lions' cap situation will flip next year and how they can manage it

Ask around about Lions OC John Morton and you'll keep hearing about his obsession with tape, tendencies and generating ideas about how to maximize personnel and finding ways to attack opponents:
A man of many ideas: Detroit Lions new OC John Morton feels like a kid in candy store
When people were asked about new Detroit Lions offensive coordinator John Morton at the NFL's scouting combine on Tuesday, one word kept coming up: Ideas.

John Morton officially on board as Detroit's OC. Here's who the coach has worked for, players he's worked with, what the teams have done when he's been on staff, and why the 2017 Jets OC role might not be a good place to judge:
Lions set to hire former assistant, Michigan native John Morton as offensive coordinator
Morton, 55, has had multiple stints working under some of the game's top head coaches. This will be his second coordinating job in the NFL following a brief run with the New York Jets in 2017.

We're all caught up in the coaching carousel , but the Lions have 31 pending free agents, including 22 who are unrestricted. I've ranked those players, projecting their next contracts and offering early odds on them being re-signed by the team:

Even though it arrived earlier than expected, the NFL offseason is upon us in Detroit, and the Lions are set to undergo plenty of change.

It’s hard to believe the euphoria of a 15-win regular season like the Detroit Lions experienced can just suddenly come to an end like that.

It was a different way to end a season - incomplete.

Ultimately, it’s the hope that kills you. And, I’m ready to be hurt again. I’ll just need a minute.
