"Champion of interesting new indie games"
Pinned
A thread for all the games I have beaten from 2025.

Game No. 1
FlipCat (Xbox One).
A fairly short and easy platformer whith a perspective shifting twist. It was okay. The platforming was fun. And the retro artstyle was nice. But music was a bit repetetive and there is no story.
Happy Metroid Prime 4 launch day! Picked up my copy earlier. I'm about 2 hours in the game and really enjoying ot so far.

Do you like Hotline Miami? Check out Sonokuni, a Japanese indie game developed by a hip hop group. It sports an indescribable art style with a one-of-a-kind soundtrack backed up by quick but tactical action gameplay. Despite being very influenced by HM it feels very distinct in visuals and gameplay.

Saw The Predator: Badlands movie last night. I thought it was okay. Knew nothing about it beforehand. Was surprised by the tone of the movie. It felt like watching a Disney/Marvel action adventure movie. Also it was weird hearing the Predator talk. With that said it was still entertaining.

The Dreamcast mouse is hard to come by. But I managed to get my gaming mouse working on my Dreamcast with this solution. Also got one for my keyboard. Now I can play Q3A on the Dreamcast with a mouse and keyboard. 🖱⌨️🤘

Since it's the International Animation Day today it felt fitting to take the kids to the movies. We watched the Pets on a train movie. The kids loved it. I thought it was okay. It was obviously targeted for a younger audience. But it had some funny moments and some fun action.

Yesterday's spontaneous pickup. Never actually played it before. Only played the original game on the Dreamcast. But it felt right to ad it to my DoA collection.

RIP Itagaki-san.

Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate looks and plays great on the Xbox One. And it even has Hitomi and Bayman 👀.

Saw Tron: Ares last night. I quite enjoyed It. It's a real audio-visual treat. The story was okay, but felt kinda flat. The action was really nice through. The CGI looked stunning and the soundtrack was great.

Latest addition to my Unreal games collection. It includes the first Unreal game. I have played it for a bit back in the days. But I have actually never owned a copy of it. Got it running on my old laptop. Time to try if it still holds up today.

Started playing Everdeep Aurora. It's this cute little puzzle platformer adventure where you play as a kitten looking for It's missing mother. It has this nice gameboy color art style. You use a electronic drill to dig tunnels deep below ground. There doesn't seem to be any combat in the game.

Something Bluesky:ers are far too bad at is liking posts. I see many on other social media who would like to get into the warmth here, but feel that there is little interaction. Do not hesitate to press like and repost sometimes, so we can help more people leave Muskier and Zuckier hunting grounds.

Also saw 28 years later last night. I thought it was pretty good. It had some really nice moments of suspense. The story wasn't at all what I expected. Kinda unpredictable, which I liked. Also I dig Danny Boyle's distinct visual style. Only thing I didn't quite like was the ending.

Took the kids to see Elio yesterday. It'sthe latest Disney/Pixar film. Didn't know anything about the movie beforehand. It turned out to be quite a pleasant surprise. We all really enjoyed it. The best family film of the year for me so far. Definetaly better than the live action Lilo & Stitch movie

Also Breakdown was pretty cool.

Exellent metroidvania game. Highly recommended.

Started playing Rogue Loops. It's this new roguelite action game where you loop between two areas where your goal is to clear them from enemies. Every time you enter a new area you get to choose from one of two buffs. But for every buff you get the enemies gets one too. Really enjoying it so far.

Had a lot of fun at Glitched yesterday. It's this new LAN party/Gaming event replacing Dreamhack in Elmia Jönköping. Got to play new, retro and arcade games. Watch live Esports tournaments and a cosplay contest. It was pretty much as good as Dreamhack. Only thing missing was indie games.

Just finished my Unreal Tournament streak. Played through the campaigns of all my Unreal Tournament console games + UT 2004. Such great games. Got strong waves of nostslgia.

It's very unfortunate that we won't be getting any new games in the series. UT 99 remains one of my favourite fps games.

Trying out Exit the Gungeon today. It's a bit different from Enter the Gungeon. While Enter was more a top-down twinstick shooter, Exit is more a platformer twinstick shooter. Having fun so far. Single player only though.
