My Olympia SG1 is the first typewriter that I’ve done almost a full top to bottom disassembly and cleaning on. Incredible machine to work on. I still need to restore the carriage and platen but it was a fun project to work on.

Although the carriage still needs work, this Olympia SG1 went from years of disuse, sitting dirty, dusty and filled with leaves on someone’s porch to a Mean Green Typing Machine. What is your biggest #typewriter rescue or restoration project?

Although all of my typewriters have a purpose in my modest collection (4 total), this seafoam green Hermes beauty is my favorite to use. Buttery smooth yet quick to the touch.
