some of the worst of it was right before Ian Flynn took over too, he started retconning stuff and killing off characters pretty quickly 😭
there's still some weird stuff after that point too but all the weird and gross stuff penders did is gone

i read issue 201 of the main run and need to read issue 5 of Sonic Universe next
Ian Flynn took over at issue 160 and there's an immediate jump in quality in terms of writing and art, there's still a bit of clean up he had to do that lasts a bit but it starts being more enjoyable there

idk, i know a lot of people say archie sonic is a lot stronger but he doesn't seem that much stronger than IDW
although he does have more experience fighting and has a wider supporting cast if you were to bring that into it
