It was more the general sense throughout the country that this is not possible here, that we are not this kind of society, that we will have a republic and not a dictatorship. Do Americans have those reflexes?

I do not stop loving (verb) the world because of despair or fear, so I do not see the practicality in participating in hope. Nor do I wish to fall for the lie that I need hope to treat this world and those in it the way they should be treated. Hope can be unstable when outcomes do not align with your vision. I want something deeper to rely on. I want to love this world, and work everyday towards love, no matter what its future holds.

I absolutely, unabashedly mark up books when I read. A habit begun, in fact, with the Bible in church with different code colored markers.

It’s about refugees, but it’s also full of paranormal phenomena. It’s about food scarcity, and the thing is, it can’t save us. I believe in the spirit world.
