20 November 1893: CULLEN LITERARY SOCIETY At this evening's meeting, the society debated 'Is the vast newspaper & periodical reading of the present day hurtful?' Mr Buchanan led the debate & Mr Gray, Cullen House, followed in the negative. After discussion, the negative side won by a small majority.
