The house across the street from us sold earlier this month, and the new owners moved in last night. Starting around 10PM. I have to assume they were vacating a rental and waited too long to reserve their movers. Either that or they are new here.

I’ve enjoyed the previous Lost Arts books—can’t wait for this one!

In a weird sort-of corollary, I recently discovered that my best friends’ college-aged kid recognized quite a bit of popular 80s songs (though he could not always name the artist or song title) because…they were on the soundtrack played at the grocery store he worked at for several years. 😭

A few months ago there was a TikTok trend of Gen z employees sincerely confused that older customers would ask them product questions. Someone explained that employees used to know things. Then we had to tell them about Radio Shack.

I realized they truly had no idea that things used to…work.

A college friend worked at Radio Shack in the mid-90s. They legit made employees answer the phone with “Thank you for calling Radio Shack. You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers!” (Yes I called my friend at work a lot. Life before cell phones…)

It’s back for me, too now!

I absolutely inhaled this book and am dying for the next installment. Loved the prequel as well!

I loved The Bargain and am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!
