Hey y'all! We made a real trailer! Marceline spent a lot of time on it and I helped color it (I'm not a professional colorist)

She was a real trooper. Worked until she got COVID, so she couldn't complete the film, unfortunately, but the work she did was great. Can't wait to work with her again.
Meet the DPs!!! Torie Pedroza had this to say, "As a queer DP from Los Angeles, it was an honor to be part of Anytime You're Feeling Lonely as the “clopener,” shooting the first and last days of production." (1/2)

Peter Thiel thinks he's going to get Lee Kuan Yew but nope it's Pol Pot.
Now, with those constraints blown apart, we are experiencing a version of the problem that's plagued authoritarian systems since forever — the mad king

Of all the "guy who's only seen 2 movies" we could've run into, this one was the funniest
While filming in downtown @discount-prophecy.bsky.social and our DP Torie were approached by a guy who asked what they were doing. They said filming a movie.
"Oh like Pulp Fiction?"
"Yeah, like Pulp Fiction but on a much much lower budget."
"Oh you mean like Kids?"

MEET THE CAST: @bastianblythe93.bsky.social! He's playing Bowen, and according to him, "everyone else can see a bit of themselves in their character, but Bowen is the exact opposite of me" and "he's possibly straight, which I'm not."

He's also the biggest Green Day connoisseur you'll ever meet

Good encapsulation of my thoughts.
Swiping through so many people not only did I feel dehumanized but felt myself starting to dehumanize the people I was swiping through.
I did cave and pay for it for a week, but it didn't fundamentally change my experience.
Truly the worst thing for my brain.
I think that dating apps making it so you can’t filter for anything important without paying a premium creates an atmosphere of frustration and disposability. I can’t even filter for “single” or “monogamous”. So I’m forced to swipe left on thousands of people or pay an obscene subscription fee
Ok I deleted all the dating apps from my phone. For however lonely I feel right now I also feel very strongly that I would rather be alone than keep using these dehumanization machines, or keep planning and going on dates where a cis girl fakes sick to leave early upon seeing me

Every day I feel more justified in the decision to make it just about trans people existing.
Something really nice about @atyfl-film.bsky.social is that it's a movie with a trans leading cast, written and directed by a trans woman, that never mentions transness. The characters just are. They get to exist as people and live their lives. And I think that's something we could all use right now

Please check out my film when it comes out. In the meantime here's some of the lovely people I worked with.
Here's our very beautiful cast. Hazel Battaglia, Lucy Conrad, Adeline Taylor, Carissa Berger, Bastian Blythe, and Marceline Thomasin (the last two in the reply skeet(? sky?)).
More about them individually in the coming week.
Our Indiegogo launches on the 24th.

In a week we'll be starting our Indiegogo campaign for the post-production of our movie.
In the meantime here's some photos to illustrate the inhumane conditions director @discount-prophecy.bsky.social put one of our leads @adataylorh.bsky.social through
(and also Max, but he's not a lead).

I love Sappho's reflections on mortality. Reading the writings of the ancients and still feeling the emotions of their work is wonderful
